Playbook: Dallas Cowboys

Formation: Gun Empty Trips TE

Play: QB Draw

Setup: Motion the X/Square receiver in (If Necessary)

Reads: Follow the blockers

Overview: This QB draw is absolutely deadly and is a play that your opponent will have to worry about at all times when you are running this scheme. The secondary does not react to the QB running with the ball making it easy to gain huge yardage.

Play: Bubble Screen

Setup: None

Reads:

1. Throw the bubble screen
2. If the screen is not there, throw it away or take off with the QB

Overview: This is another play that your opponent always must think about. It is really a numbers game pretty much anytime the defense base aligns you can throw the bubble screen in a formation like this. If the bubble screen is manually covered either take off with the QB if you have escape artist or just throw the ball away.

Play: Smash (First Setup)

Setup: Put the B/O receiver on a smoke screen

Reads:

1. The first read on this play is the RB/R1 receiver quick
2. Then look for the B/O receiver on the smoke screen
3. If that is not there look for the A/X tight end on the corner route
4. Then progress to the left side to the X/Square receiver on the hitch
5. Finally, find the Y/Triangle receiver on the corner route

Overview: This play attacks deep and short on both the left and right sides of the field. While also this play has a route in the middle of the field that will draw the opponent's user. Making it difficult for the opponent to cover everything when making the correct read.

Play: Smash (Second Setup)

Setup:

1. Put the A/X tight end on a streak
2. Put the B/O receiver on a drag route

Reads:

1. The first read will be the B/O receiver on the drag route
2. If that is not there look for the A/X tight end up the seam of the field
3. Then look for the RB/R1 receiver on his crossing route deep to the right
4. Use the X/Square receiver as a check down on the hitch
5. Then if that isn’t there look for the Y/Triangle receiver on the corner route

Overview: This setup adds a deep crossing route going to the right side of the field. Also the route combinations on this play leave the drag wide open underneath.

Play: Flood

Setup:

1. Put the Y/Triangle receiver on a hitch route
2. Put the RB/R1 receiver on a drag route
3. Put the B/O receiver on a curl route

Reads:

1. The first read on the play is he RB/R1 receiver on the drag route
2. Then look for the Y/Triangle receiver on the hitch
3. If that is not there look for the A/X tight end across the middle on the post
4. Then look for the B/O receiver on the curl
5. Against Cover 2 look for the X/Square receiver on the fade

Overview: This is another great play where our tight end is now on a post route instead of the corner route. The X/Square receiver is wide open against any Cover 2 zone and also plays as a clear out against other zones.

Play: Dig

Setup:

1. Put the RB/R1 receiver on a hitch
2. Put the Y/Triangle receiver on a zig route
3. Put the B/O receiver on a streak

Reads:

1. First look for the A/X tight end and the RB/R1 receiver on the hitch routes
2. Then look for the Y/Triangle receiver on the zig route
3. Finally find the X/Square receiver over the middle of the field

Overview: This play is unique because the Tight End is on a hitch and you do not find that much in Madden. This play is only to be used a couple times a game when needing short yardage. 3rd and 4th and short are the times to use this when needing to pick up a first down.
